Meeting Information
Four meetings with speakers were arranged for each year, October, November, February and March, the February meeting included a buffet and because the weather could make travelling difficult a local speaker was preferred. This pattern still continues. Outings are arranged during the summer months and are generally take place in the evening.
Outings arranged for next year will be listed below.
For many years four newsletters were issued each year, this has now been reduced to two.
A grant was awarded to the Society to produce a book on Blundeston, A Village History, this was undertaken by two of the members, Olwen Offord and Iris Mayes. The book has now been completely sold out and copies are no longer available.
Following the success of the publication of this book the authors are now working on a second book concentrating on the history of the Church.

We meet at Blundeston Village Hall at 7.30pm unless otherwise stated
Wednesday 19th October: Reminiscence Roadshow by ?Bob the Memory Jogger? this involves a host of memorabilia to handle, discuss and, hopefully, jog many memories, and will take us on a trip through the social side of history. This talk comes highly recommended!
Wednesday 16th November: Far Pavilions Part 2 by Michael Mills members may recall his highly entertaining and at times hilarious account of the many theatres and concert pavilions which have existed in Lowestoft over the years since 1730, and this talk will continue with part 2 which takes the story through the second World War to the present day.
.
Wednesday 15th February 2012: Lowestoft?s Interesting Buildings by Terry Weatherley Lowestoft still retains a wealth of buildings with interesting social and historic backgrounds and this talk promises to enlighten us on some of the hidden gems lying within the town. THIS IS OUR ANNUAL BUFFET EVENING.
Wednesday 14th March 2012: The Red Dragon & the Tylwyth Teg by Jon Read Tylwyth Teg is Welsh for ?the fair folk? or, in other words, the fairies, so come along and learn from Jon, in his usual amusing style, what this is all about.
